I'm new at shipping stuff?

When you send a book or an item through Fedex, USPS, or UPS, does the 3-7 day shpping include weekends? And what do they mean when a company says ';business days';, cuz I'm afraid that's what they might be thinking, but i'm not sure, I hope not. My item needs to get their FAST.
