I've been out of work for 5 yrs & need a good job that supports me well as I'm single. Pls help. Thanks

I was laid off in 2001 & ended up taking care of my sick father for 2+ years, then took care of my mom for 2 years. I'm glad I was able to do it, but now I have to make up for lost time. I have a B.A. degree and 20+ years' work experience. My dream is writing fiction in one form or other for a living but I only give it half-hearted attempts. Meanwhile, I get only temp work with low pay and menial duties. Employers love me & my excellent work, but something always seems to block my getting hired fulltime like a sudden job freeze, job reclassification, etc. Or they know a bargain when they see one so they keep me there. Friends' good efforts never seem to pan out either. It's very frustrating. I almost feel as though I'm cursed! And I feel as if life has passed me by when I see my school friends in real careers getting paid exellent salaries, or settled in marriages, and me still single, working as a temp. Would moving help? Please--help me, Tony. Thank you.
